Retaining Walls around Woongarrah

If your Woongarrah, Hamlyn Terrace or Wadalba block sits south of Johns Road in Wadalba, Council's plan expects larger lots as the land rises and slopes toward the southern boundary. That is exactly the kind of block where a cut-and-fill retaining wall is common.

In Woongarrah, Hamlyn Terrace and Wadalba alike, Council's excavation depth, fill height and boundary lines for a cut-and-fill lot are set out on the concrete sleeper page below. The Johns Road line applies to Wadalba only, not to Woongarrah or Hamlyn Terrace.

Permits and Central Coast Council rules

A wall that is not exempt or complying development needs a development application to Central Coast Council. Exempt means no more than 600 mm high and clear of boundaries, easements, sewer and water mains, so check the lines on the main retaining walls page and confirm with Council before work starts.
